I’m excited to show off a recently completed brand identity for David Hansen Law PLC. In 2018 David started his own law firm and needed a brand identity (logo, colors, fonts, style guide) and business collateral (business cards, letterhead and envelopes). Over the course of several conversations, David and I came up with a list of words to describe what his practice would be: competent, stable, trustworthy, warm, caring, inviting and compassionate. These seven words would be the cornerstone of our work together.

A mood board was created to gather images, feelings and colors. David’s practice focuses on wills, trusts and property law. Visually, we both felt it was important to highlight the relationships of those who need David’s services. It’s also important to help potential clients understand that his services are not only for those in the last half of their life, but for all ages and situations. Stock photography is used to highlight the variety of ways those relationships can look.
Logo, business cards, letterhead and envelopes, oh my!

With the mood board in place, work began on creating the logo and business collateral. The logo is solid, easy-to-read and single color to allow for a variety of daily business uses including photocopying. If you glance at the logo, you can almost see the shape of a gavel with the “H” and “Hansen” hinting at the oft-used legal icon without being overt. I’ll admit, this was a happy accident.

The main font for all of David’s collateral is Neuzeit Grotesk while the (sparingly used) accent font is the always-classic Bodoni MT.

As part of the brand-identity, I also created several sample mock ups for David, all of which are highlighted in his brand guide. These samples include advertising, flyers and banners.
It has been a pleasure to work with David and I can’t wait for our next collaboration.
